Absolute Air Did a Fantastic Job

Absolute Air did a fantastic job. I vetted 10 companies before finally deciding on absolute air and I made a great choice. We had a bad experience with another HVAC company that promised the world and didn't deliver. Absolute Air did what other companies could not, they delivered on their promises. Mike had a low key sales approach, provided heating and cooling calculations to properly size my new furnace and AC unit. John and Mason installed the equipment focusing on installing everything correctly the first time. Our system performs well and Absolute Air is to thank.

Install Went Smoothly and According to Plan

The ducting (10 total runs) in our 50+ year old home has been showing its age, and with what seems to be an annual "smoke" season, we decided it was time to ensure that our entire A/C system will function as effectively as possible. I requested a quote from Absolute Air, and Anthony came out to provide the bid, which was consistent with other prices I had been given.

The crew got the work done in about two days. John, Mason, and Javier were professional, and happy to answer any questions I had about the process. I was particularly impressed with John's experience. He explained the rationale for which duct sizes are used when, and how it will all work together to provide good airflow throughout the entire house. He also came up with some improvements on the old routing approach, which now allows better access under the house.

Since the existing boots (the boxes that connect the ducts to the floor vents) were pretty solid, we opted to keep them. Javier went through and cleaned them up, applied sealant to the seams, and ensured they were all well secured to the floor (while wearing a mask, of course).

When everything was done, Mason performed the final walk-through, making sure that airflow was good at all vents, and verified that the entire system was functioning. Overall, the install went smoothly and according to plan. I feel VERY prepared for the summer now! Thanks, Anthony!

Amazing Service

If i could give 6 stars i would.

i've never felt the need to write a review before, but i was so blown away I felt compelled to!

The owner, Anthony and a younger gentleman came by last minute and saved my life! Even though they technically close at 5, I look a shot (desperate as I was) and called at 5:15ish when I got home from work. My AC was shot and it had been 88-90+ all week... sure enough he answered and said luckily he was in my area already for another job and he could head out to me SAME DAY.

AMAZING service, so polite. Incredible work.

Definitely will be calling for any future issues / referring everyone I know to him.

Recommended the Most Appropriate System for My House

I understand that this is a long review, but I feel so strongly about the service that I have received that I did not want to leave anything out. I vetted 10 different HVAC companies before finally deciding on Absolute Air to replace my aged furnace and A/C unit. It all started with Mike, the sales rep. He had a low key approach that I really appreciated. He recommended the most appropriate system for my house based on heating and cooling load calculations. To perform the calculations, Mike measured all the walls of my house, windows, evaluated my ceiling and wall insulation, sun exposure, etc. All of the work that Mike performed was just to give me a quote for an appropriately sized system! Not one other HVAC company offered to perform similar calculations. All of the other sales reps looked at the size of my current unit and gaged what was most appropriate. Most of the other salesmen tried to recommend their higher tier (most efficient) systems to save me operating costs, but after doing the math on my own, there was no way the added premium of the equipment was going to save me enough over the expected life of the equipment. In my opinion...gimmicks and tricks for upsales! Mike was straight forward, to the point, considerate and responsive. He provided an excellent first impression from Absolute Air. OK so Mike the salesman was great, but what about the installation and service...even better!

I was fortunate enough to have John and Mason perform my installation. When John first looked at my old furnace, he immediately saw that the new furnace would not fit in the same place because the new higher efficiency furnaces sit up higher due to their condensation drains. He recommended that we move the furnace over to be able to raise it up. I agreed that his recommendation seemed appropriate and they got to work. Since the new furnace was in a new location, my attic light was not directly over the new furnace. Mason had shifted over the light to work in the new furnace location without without even asking. He needed to put plywood down on my ceiling joists to form the platform for the new furnace and he used some additional pieces to form a catwalk from the attic access to the new furnace location, again without asking. I was surprised by the attention to detail and care that both John and Mason were putting in because I suspect that most other companies would not have worried about the lighting or catwalk. I thanked John for the extra effort and he humbly replied that he did the work on my house as he would on his own house. I really appreciated the quality first mentality that John had. He was going to do it right the first time regardless of time, material or extra effort.

With the furnace moving to a new location, the ducting had to be altered. John and Mason noticed a had dampers at the beginnings and end of all of the wye pipes. ( Side note, the ducting was installed by Service Champions and they tried for 3 years to rectify our lack of HVAC to our back rooms. One option they had was to install dampers everywhere to try an choke flow in the beginning to free up flow down the line. It didn't work! Our experience with Service Champions left us hating HVAC contractors and very reluctant to seek out another one to replace our system) Sorry about the sidebar but I feel that it is important to point out when companies are doing exceptionally well and when they are not. Back to the dampers, John explained that if some dampers were loose they could close automatically when the air blows. He noticed that several were loose so he recommended to remove them. I agreed again with his assessment and he removed them and basically reconstructed my entire ducting system.

I could site several other examples of John and Mason's workmanship, but I have already written a long review. All in all Anthony is doing a great job with his company and it shows with the overall team that they sent to perform my work. I would highly recommend them to everyone I can. Thanks Absolute Air for restoring my faith in HVAC companies!

Great Rates and Very Professional Service

Great rates and very professional service. We'd like to give a huge shout out to Anthony with Absolute Air. After dozens of calls to HVAC and electrical companies at the start of a holiday week, we finally made contact with Absolute Air. My father's house was without heat due to operator error (I mistakenly took the thermostat off the wall). Two loose wires needed to be reconnected. A small job, but not something I wanted to risk myself; and apparently not something other companies had time for. As promised, the owner/technician arrived before the end of the work day; and while laughing the entire time, he fixed our problem within minutes, wished us a happy holiday and was on his way! Rate was far less than expected! Feeling thankful!

Did a Terrific Job Replacing All Our Furnace Vents

I have no reservations about recommending Absolute Air for your heating and a/c needs.

Installers were Professional, Friendly and Respectful

I've been a home inspector for the last 23 years, and I have seen lots of unprofessional, funky, dangerous and just plain wrong furnace installations. One of the worst happen to be in the house we bought in Alameda.

Anthony and his team came in, evaluated the situation, brought in the correct furnace, repaired and reconfigured the ductwork, installed a two zone system so we weren't freezing downstairs, and roasting upstairs and wrapped the whole thing up in just a few days.

The work was impeccable, the installers were professional, friendly and respectful of our house, my wife and our cat. I couldn't have been happier with Absolute Air, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to everyone I know.

They Do Professional Work on Time Without Any Issues

Our A/C died during the heat wave this month and I called everywhere trying to find a company to come to my pad and fix the A/C but I got nowhere until I called Absolute Air in Martinez.

I got an appointment within 2 days and it all went smoothly from that point on.

Cole showed up at my house, explained to me what was wrong, fixed it and left my place way better.

I don't have more words to describe Absolute Air so I will stick to basics, this company is legit and is not out there to scam their way into it for the money. They do professional work on time without any issues.

I strongly recommend them to anyone near me. I am ready for the rest of the summer heat now!!

Quality of Work is Superb

Our Go-to for Home HVAC Issues

Absolute Air has been our go-to for home HVAC issues for years, cannot recommend them highly enough. Technician Mike Kenney is our go-to guy; very professional and friendly. Mike saved the day once again today.

On Saturday, we noticed our furnace was running at the same time as our AC. Called Absolute Air on Monday, got appt with Mike today. Right on time, including courtesy call that he was on his way. Tested our HVAC systems, the very old thermostat was bad and causing the mixed signals to furnace, and also the capacitor on the furnace was bad. Mike installed a new capacitor, thermostat, and also replaced HVAC filter. Learned a lot by shadowing him and asking questions.

He checked out the complete system before leaving, it all works perfect. Really appreciate the fine craftsmanship as well as the care taken with our AC issue today.

Service Was Top Notch

These guys are great. Had them install a brand new Trane heating and air conditioning unit in my 2 story 2800 square foot home to replace a failing older system. The new unit works great, saves me money - the service was top notch and the guys are over the top good people. Added bonus Anthony the owner fills out the paper work for the rebate that he got for me that is offered for updated new systems - saved me a ton of money really helped.

They Stand Behind Their Work

We had a "Y" connector under the house on the ground. We just bought the house in December and no one had been under the house since we moved in. I asked the seller who did the work an he connected me to Anthony. Anthony (and Jake) were very professional. The problem is fixed as they "stand behind their work".

On Time and Professional

Mike has serviced our 40+ year old Biltwel twice over the past few years and was on time and professional both times. While others wanted as much as $150 just to come out and look at the unit, their cost of $79 (at the time of this writing) was much lower. Appointment was 3 business days from time of call, and just before cold snap. Will use this company as long as Mike is the technician.

I Loved Working With Them

The absolute air guys were recommended by a awesome concrete foundation guy we love, We are first time homeowners in Oakland and we have learned the hard way that word of mouth is the best way to pick vendors. Well these guys delivered on time and budget and I loved working with them. They are reliable, down to earth guys that I would hire again in a heart beat.

Worked Hard and Got The System Installed as Planned

I obtained three competitive estimates for the installation of an entirely new heating and AC system (ducts included). The other two bids were from larger more established companies. Absolute Air was not only the most competitive bid, the system they quoted was better than the competitors, in both energy efficiency of the system and R8 v. R6 insulation on the ducts. In fact it was so much better, I almost didn't go with them because the deal seemed too good to be true compared to the other bids. I discussed my concerns with the owner, Anthony, and he set my mind at ease. His crew was great, worked hard and got the system installed as planned. So far the system has been in for about two months (two hot months) and it has performed perfectly as well as reduce my electric bills. I recommend Absolute Air and hope you have as good an experience as I had.

Fabulous Customer Service

My landlord called Anthony to look at our heater that wasn't working properly. He came out immediately the next day and had it fixed in less than 30 minutes, plus gave me tips on how to better heat the house quickly. Fabulous customer service, and quick response to phone calls--this company has my vote of confidence!!
